ActionFiguresDaily News Burst – September 8, 2026: G2 Menasor Delay, G.I. Joe Classified, Robosen Soundwave & MOTU

ActionFiguresDaily News Burst for September 8, 2026 featuring G.I. Joe Sgt. Slaughter with the Triple T, Transformers G2 Menasor and Robosen G1 Soundwave

ActionFiguresDaily News Burst for September 8, 2026 featuring G.I. Joe Sgt. Slaughter with the Triple T, Transformers G2 Menasor and Robosen G1 Soundwave

Today’s action figure news is a little more update-driven than reveal-heavy, but there are still several worthwhile developments to keep on your radar.

The biggest news is an official release delay for Takara Tomy’s Transformers New Legends G2 Menasor, while G.I. Joe collectors now have fresh in-hand looks at Sgt. Slaughter with the Triple “T” and Retro Cardback Flash. There’s also a notable availability update for Robosen’s $999 G1 Soundwave, plus a mystery Masters of the Universe Mattel Creations drop that appears to be scheduled for later this month.

Here’s what’s worth knowing for September 8.

Transformers New Legends G2 Menasor Delayed to Late October

Takara Tomy Transformers New Legends NL-02 G2 Menasor combined action figure and Stunticons

If you have Takara Tomy’s Transformers New Legends NL-02 Menasor G2 Ver. on pre-order, your wait just got a little longer.

Takara Tomy has officially moved the Japanese release from late September 2026 to late October 2026, citing “various circumstances” without providing a more specific explanation.

The set brings together:

  • Motormaster
  • Breakdown
  • Drag Strip
  • Wildrider
  • Dead End

All five Stunticons transform individually and combine to form G2 Menasor.

Manufacturer: Takara Tomy
Franchise: Transformers
Line: New Legends
Product: NL-02 Menasor G2 Ver.
Product Type: Five-Figure Combiner Set
Status: Delayed
Updated Release: Late October 2026

Entertainment Earth has carried the set for $274.99, although its allocation is currently pre-sold out. Its product page had still been showing a September estimate when the delay was announced, so I would treat Takara Tomy’s official late-October update as the date to follow.

This is the kind of delay that matters if you’re budgeting several higher-priced Transformers releases this fall.

At nearly $275, Menasor isn’t an impulse buy, and even a one-month shift can affect how collectors plan purchases—especially with several other Takara Tomy releases hitting around the same period.

If you already have one ordered, there’s nothing you need to do right now. Just expect the wait to extend into late October.

G.I. Joe Classified Sgt. Slaughter & Triple “T” Starts Reaching Collectors

Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Series Sgt. Slaughter action figure with Triple “T” vehicle

We’re also getting our first good look at finished production examples of G.I. Joe Classified Series Sgt. Slaughter and the Triple “T.”

Fresh in-hand photography has started circulating even though Hasbro Pulse still lists the set as a pre-order, so I would not call this a full retail release just yet.

The package is priced at $109.99 and includes a 6-inch Sgt. Slaughter figure, the modernized Triple “T” vehicle, seven accessories and 17 unassembled vehicle pieces.

Manufacturer: Hasbro
Franchise: G.I. Joe
Line: Classified Series
Character: Sgt. Slaughter
Vehicle: Triple “T”
Scale: 6-inch figure scale
Price: $109.99
Status: Pre-Order / Finished Examples Reaching Collectors
Where to Shop: Hasbro Pulse

Vehicles continue to be one of the most interesting parts of the Classified Series, and the Triple “T” has considerably more shelf presence than you might get from Hasbro’s product renders alone.

If you grew up with Sgt. Slaughter’s original vehicle, the appeal here is obvious. Hasbro has translated the unmistakable silhouette of the vintage Triple “T” into the larger Classified format while still giving it enough modern detail to fit alongside the current line.

For anyone still deciding whether the $109.99 package is worth the space and money, these in-hand photos are probably more useful than another round of promotional photography.

G.I. Joe Classified Retro Flash Gets Fresh In-Hand Look

Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Series Retro Cardback Anthony “Flash” Gambello action figure with accessories

Another classic Joe is getting closer to collectors’ shelves.

New in-hand images of Anthony “Flash” Gambello give us a much better look at the finished G.I. Joe Classified Series Retro Cardback Flash figure.

Flash is one of the original members of the G.I. Joe team and arrives in the Classified Series with the retro-style presentation many longtime collectors have been asking for.

Manufacturer: Hasbro
Franchise: G.I. Joe
Line: Classified Series Retro Cardback
Character: Anthony “Flash” Gambello
Scale: 6 inches
Price: $27.99
Status: Pre-Order
Estimated Arrival at Entertainment Earth: October 2026
Where to Shop: Entertainment Earth

The figure includes six accessories, including Flash’s helmet, XMLR-1A laser rifle, power pack, connecting tube, figure stand and an additional weapon accessory. Hasbro also confirms the 6-inch figure uses classic-cardback-inspired packaging.

The good news for ActionFiguresDaily readers is that Entertainment Earth currently has Flash available for pre-order for $27.99, with an estimated October 2026 arrival.

That makes this one of today’s easiest collector buys.

Flash isn’t another repaint of a recent character—he’s an important piece of the original G.I. Joe lineup, and Hasbro’s retro presentation gives longtime fans another reason to add him even if they already own a substantial Classified collection.

Robosen G1 Soundwave Sells Through at Entertainment Earth

Robosen Transformers G1 Soundwave auto-converting robot in robot and cassette-player modes

Robosen’s extraordinary Transformers G1 Flagship Soundwave Auto-Converting Robot made a brief appearance at Entertainment Earth before selling out again.

Entertainment Earth currently lists Soundwave at $999.00 and marks the product as sold out, with an option to receive an alert if additional inventory becomes available. (Entertainment Earth)

Manufacturer: Robosen Robotics / Hasbro
Franchise: Transformers
Character: Soundwave
Product Type: Programmable Auto-Converting Robotic Figure
Price: $999.00
Entertainment Earth Status: Check Availability
Hasbro Pulse Status: In Stock

This is far more than a conventional Transformers figure.

Robosen’s Soundwave uses 28 servo motors and 84 chipsets, automatically converts into its G1 cassette-player mode, works as a Bluetooth speaker and supports app-based controls. Entertainment Earth also notes that the robot includes more than 200 voice lines recorded by original Soundwave voice actor Frank Welker. (Entertainment Earth)

Hasbro Pulse currently still lists the figure as in stock for $999.

That price makes Soundwave a very different kind of purchase than a standard Generations figure, but the fact that Entertainment Earth’s allocation sold through is notable.

If you’ve been waiting for another Entertainment Earth restock, I’d use the retailer’s stock-alert option rather than assuming another allocation will appear immediately.

From an action figure engineering standpoint, this remains one of the most ambitious Transformers releases currently available.

Mystery Masters of the Universe Drop Appears for September 23

Masters of the Universe Mattel Creations September 23, 2026 Coming Soon launch calendar teaser

Masters of the Universe collectors also have another date to circle.

A mystery MOTU release dated September 23, 2026 has appeared on the Australian Mattel Creations launch calendar.

At this point, however, the product itself has not been revealed.

Manufacturer: Mattel
Franchise: Masters of the Universe
Product: Not Yet Announced
Line: Not Confirmed
Price: Not Confirmed
Launch Date Shown: September 23, 2026
Where to Watch: Mattel Creations

There’s already speculation surrounding previously revealed MOTU characters, but there isn’t enough evidence yet to confidently identify the September 23 product.

So for now, I wouldn’t assume it’s Laser Light Skeletor, Two-Bad or any other specific character.

What matters today is the date.

If you collect Mattel Creations MOTU releases, September 23 is now worth watching, and we should hopefully get a proper reveal before then.

Indie Figure Watch: Evil-Bae Joins Flip-Or Wave 2

Evil-Bae Wave 2 stretch-goal action figure reveal for Flip-Or and the Champions of Nefarity

There’s also a smaller independent action figure reveal worth mentioning today.

Evil-Bae has been revealed as a stretch-goal character for Flip-Or and the Champions of Nefarity Wave 2.

The figure is planned as the line’s first female character and requires a newly developed body rather than simply reusing an existing male buck.

The reveal shows Evil-Bae with:

  • Three alternate heads
  • Shield
  • Blue mallet
  • Ornate hammer
  • Spell-casting hand

A Kickstarter launch date and final pricing have not yet been announced.

This obviously won’t have the same reach as G.I. Joe, Transformers or MOTU, but it’s exactly the kind of indie action figure development worth keeping an eye on as ActionFiguresDaily expands its coverage beyond the biggest manufacturers.

What to Watch Next

There are several follow-ups worth tracking from today’s news.

The biggest is G2 Menasor, where retailer arrival estimates will need to catch up with Takara Tomy’s newly confirmed late-October release.

For G.I. Joe, I’d watch for Sgt. Slaughter and the Triple “T” to transition from scattered in-hand sightings into broader fulfillment.

Retro Flash is also getting close enough that Entertainment Earth’s October estimate makes him worth monitoring for an actual in-stock change.

And for MOTU, the obvious date is September 23, when we should finally learn what Mattel has planned for that mystery Mattel Creations slot.
